Kyle shortlisted for major UK award

Sovereign Grooming founder Kyle Ross has been shortlisted for a major UK hair industry award.

The businessman - winner of Britain's Best Barber in 2017 - has tonight been named as one of five finalists in the 'Entrepreneur' category of the Creative HEAD IT List awards, the Oscars of the British hairdressing.

The list celebrates the brightest, most ambitious and creative new British and Irish talents aged 30 and under.

Past winners have gone on to shoot with high-profile magazines, become ambassadors for global brands, lead hair teams at London Fashion Week and be signed by top talent agencies.

BUSY YEAR

The nomination comes after a stellar 12 months for Kyle and Sovereign, during which the business has launched new male image services, its first online retail store and a vibrant new digital image ahead of planned expansion into Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The 29-year-old was also recently shortlisted by GQ Magazine in its Barber of the Year category, adding to a growing list of industry accolades.

Kyle said: "It's a huge honour to be shortlisted for these awards, particularly in what looks like a hugely competitive category.

"It’s been a very busy year at Sovereign following our rebrand in September. I am indebted to my talented team and loyal clients, without whom any of the great things which have happened over the past 12 months would be possible.”

TALENT SPOTLIGHT

Now in its tenth year, The It List – presented by leading industry publication Creative HEAD and sponsored by ghd – is judged by an exceptional panel of hair, fashion and business experts, including names like fashion and beauty journalists Alice Hart-Davis, Jessica Bumpus and Cassie Steer; talent agent Candice O’Brien; fashion designer Louise Gray; and session stylists Louis Byrne and Anna Cofone.

Kyle will join a star-studded, 700-strong guest list at The It List Grand Final on Monday September 2 at The Printworks in London. The event will be hosted by 8 out of 10 Cats star Aisling Bea.
