Welcome to The Sovereign Edit, our new weekly guide to looking and feeling your best.

Our aim with this new weekly blog is to distil the best of the week's style, health and grooming news into a simple guide.

Sound good? Let's get started. And don't forget, you can book your next appointment at Sovereign using the 'book now' tab on the bottom of your screen.

4) WHAT DOES HEAT DO TO YOUR BODY?

It is forecast to be a hot summer ahead, and we're being warned to keep an eye out for the signs of heat stroke.

So what does extreme heat do to our bodies? As the body gets hotter, blood vessels open up. This leads to lower blood pressure and makes the heart work harder to push the blood around the body.

This can cause mild symptoms such as an itchy heat rash or swollen feet as blood vessels become leaky. At the same time, sweating leads to the loss of fluids and salt and, crucially, the balance between them in the body changes.
